EXCEPTIONIST

Now, a lot of people question themselves from time to time on who they think they are, or on who the want to be... that sort of thing. The great thing is that we're all different and people reason differently to others. So this creates a kind of crosscut where we are able to weigh our views and compare them to other peoples views to see if a person is an idealist, or a relativist according to the decisions they make and the conversations the have.

Ethics is usually simply defined as whats right and whats wrong according to the greater part of the society, and in definition the ethical system refers to the process in which one deals with moral issues, and there's positions... ethical positions. The ethical positions are said to help locate the link between moral values and moral behavior.

A good number of graduates and I partook in a questionnaire activity where our score would determine where you lay on the map of ethical models... Here's a slight look at it...

LOW RELATIVISM
HIGH RELATIVISM

HIGH IDEALISM

ABSOLUTISTS

SITUATIONIST

LOW IDEALIST

EXCEPTIONIST

SUBJECTIVIST
My score landed me in the bracket of "Exceptionists", where one is low in relativism, and low in idealism as well. The definition of an exceptionist says, "Exceptionists are principled pragmatists who endorse moral rules as guides for action, but admit that following the rules will not necessarily generate the best consequences for all concerned."

At first I was extremely skeptical and wanted to ask all sorts of questions about how accurate the scores are etcetera, but when I read that description, I was in shock because out of all the other three in relation to my behaviors and actions, there is no where else I think one could place me. It was way too accurate.
